~*Recognized 7/14/21: Top 10 finalist in the #SexLifeContest by Wattpad and Netflix!*~
This was the story I submitted. Romance on Wattpad had posted a full story, with each chapter being a finalist’s short story, mine being one of them. I was going to post the link here for everyone to read all of the finalists’ submissions, but they took that story down. Thankfully, I still had mine haha.
“Do you have any fantasies?” I asked Marco as we laid together, my fingertips drawing small circles on his chest. The sound of my voice was the only sound in the still quiet other than the slight rustling of the lace curtains as the warm seabreeze parted them.
I felt his heart beat a little faster after I asked him. “What do you mean?”
“Anything.” I pushed myself up and gazed at him curiously. “Anything at all.”
I saw a slight grin curl his lips. “You first, Jade.”
I narrowed my eyes playfully. “Well, after tonight I can cross off sex on the beach, can’t I?”
He chuckled. “Mhm. Is there another?”
I felt my cheeks get hot and I looked away. “Sure there is.”
Neither of us spoke. I watched the curtains dance in the breeze, the silence becoming louder.
“Ashamed?”
“No.”
“Then what?”
I sighed. “You remember Kalen, I’m sure.”
Marco furrowed his brow. “I do. What about him?”
I wrung my hands together. “I…what if we…I-” I stopped and looked at the floor, becoming frustrated with my own stutters. “I want both of you. Just once, to try it.”
This time, the silence was even louder.
“I mean, obviously, it’s just a fantasy. I’m not-“
“Am I not enough for you?”
“No! No, it’s not that, love! I promise!” I took his hands, desperately trying to make him believe me. “I’ve just always wondered what it would be like.”
He rolled over. “Good night, Jade.”
I got out of bed and walked to the living room. My head swirled with anxious thoughts, berating myself for being so dumb. I laid down, a combination of sadness and anger surging through my blood. I shut my eyes tightly.
I awoke the following morning to light touches on my skin. When I opened my eyes, I was face to face with Marco.
“You know I want what’s best for us,” he whispered.
I nodded. “We don’t have to. It was just a-“
“And I want to make you happy.”
I nodded again, but didn’t speak.
“I’m sorry for brushing you off.” He started to smile. “Let’s try it.”
“No, we don’t have t-“
“Will it make you happy? Fulfill your fantasy?”
“Yes.”
“Then let’s give it a shot.”
