The party lasted well into the night hours. I had offered for Morgyn to stay with me for a few days in order to rest. He had accepted, and Caleb said he would come around more to help out as well. Realistically, I knew he just wanted to be close to the both of us.
We started to say our goodbyes, and Morgyn and I teleported to my apartment, grabbing Caleb’s shoulders to have him teleport with us.
Morgyn and Caleb sat down on the couch. I went into the kitchen to get us some ice water. When I came back, Morgyn was standing at the window, staring off at the bright lights of the city against the night sky.
“I’ve never noticed how pretty the city is at night,” he said.
I sat down on the couch, placing our glasses on the coffee table. “But, how often are you even in the city at night?”
Morgyn laughed quietly. “Not often enough.” He turned toward me with a flirtatious smile. “Maybe that’ll change.” He came and sat by me.
I blushed and nodded. “Maybe.”
Caleb grinned. “You two are adorable,” he beamed.
“It’s not awkward for you two?” Morgyn asked, taking a sip of his water.
“Maybe a little,” I shrugged. “I’m a little afraid that if I show one of you affection in front of the other, there may be a little bit of jealousy.”
Caleb waved his hand. “Not here.”
Morgyn echoed his sentiments. “I agree.”
I swirled the water in my glass. “I’m sure I’ll get used to it.” I realized I was sitting a good distance away from Morgyn, while he was sitting closer to Caleb. It was like I was actively trying not to make Caleb jealous by sitting closer to Morgyn. I scooted a little closer to him, and he smiled at me.
“I’m sure you will too.” He leaned closer to me, resting his head on my shoulder and giving me a big smile.
I laughed and kissed his forehead. “Weirdo.”
“Hey!” He lifted his head and glared at me.
I laid down resting my head in Morgyn’s lap. I grinned up at him. “Don’t worry,” I said. “I’m weird too.”
“She’s right,” Caleb chimed in.
I looked at him and smiled. “But you love it.”
He nodded decisively. “Yes, I do.”
Morgyn watched this banter and smiled. “Caleb, you’re musing over us, and how cute we are, but you two are just as adorable.”
“You two are also adorable,” I chimed in, pointing two fingers, one at each of them. “Even though I’ve only seen you two be truly adorable once, and it was a tongue in cheek thing.”
Caleb and Morgyn looked at each other. They shrugged in unison and leaned closer to each other, kissing.
I squealed in excitement. “Oh my God, you guys are so cute!”
They both blushed and broke the kiss.
I giggled, climbing over Morgyn to sit on both of their laps. “Again!”
Caleb laughed. “We don’t kiss on command.”
“Sure we do,” Morgyn grinned and kissed him again.
I giggled and rested my head on Caleb’s chest.
Morgyn broke their kiss and eyed me. I grinned and kissed him, putting my arms around him. There was a strong shock, and he pulled me closer. I giggled, following his movements. After a few moments, we pulled away, but he just gazed into my eyes.
I blushed. “Looking for something?” I grinned playfully.
“Don’t need to look for something that is found,” he smiled.
I blushed again, and Caleb smiled.
“So poetic,” he said.
“Oh yes, you know me,” Morgyn winked.
“All that sass turns into sweet talk and romance,” Caleb said to me.
“Is that so?” I asked, looking back at Morgyn.
“Maybe.” Morgyn smiled slightly. “I guess we’ll see.”
I giggled.
I moved back down to sit with Caleb, leaving space for Morgyn, as he was still weak from what had transpired earlier in the day. We kept talking, flirting, and joking with each other. We lost track of time, and when I started to feel groggy, I looked at the time.
“Whoa,” I said. “It’s three A.M.”
“You need sleep?” Caleb asked.
“Yes, and I think Morgyn does too,” I smiled at him. “We shouldn’t have kept you up as late as we did.”
“I am not complaining in the least,” Morgyn smiled back. “It’s been a very good night.”
I nodded. “Yes, it really has.” I smiled up at Caleb. He kissed my forehead in response.
Morgyn stood up. “So, the other room is upstairs?”
Caleb grinned. “You’re not sleeping in hers?”
Morgyn and I both looked shocked and blushed in unison.
“Caleb, he needs to rest,” I reminded him.
Morgyn shrugged. “I’ve actually recuperated enough. It’s been hours.”
“I thought it would take days,” I said.
“No,” he laughed. “Spellcasters are good at what we do. You cast a healing spell that didn’t stop working until it was done.”
I smiled and looked at the floor, blushing.
“Besides, it’s just sleep,” Caleb chimed in. He looked at me devilishly. “Right?”
I blushed again. “Right! It’s just sleep!” I looked at Morgyn. I felt butterflies in my stomach. We all knew it wasn’t just going to be sleep.
Morgyn smiled. “Well, then do you mind if I sleep in your room, then?”
I giggled nervously. “Not at all.”
Caleb smiled. “My work is done.”
I laughed. “And what will we do with you?”
“Oh, I’m going to the spare room,” he laughed. “I’ll let you two have your moment. As Morgyn said before, it’s about time.”
I blushed and looked at Morgyn, who had a playful grin on his face. He started to walk toward the bedroom. “Are you coming?”
“Yes, but only for sleep!” I exclaimed, getting up.
Caleb stood up with me and kissed my forehead. “Have fun.”
“Hush!” I laughed. I followed Morgyn and we went into the room. I grabbed my nighty and went to the bathroom to put it on. Coming back in, I put my clothes into the hamper. I tossed Morgyn a pair of unisex baggy shorts and turned around.
“I know you didn’t bring anything, so you can have those. I don’t use them.” I knew my voice was shaking and I was acting cold. I wasn’t trying to.
He changed quickly and walked up behind me. “What’s wrong?” He asked.
I jumped, not realizing he was there. I spun around and smiled. “Nothing! This was just unexpected, and I’m quite nervous, you know?”
He smiled and put his arms around me. “Obviously, it’s not a requirement that we get intimate.” He kissed my forehead, causing a small shock. “We were just joking out there.”
I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head on his chest. “I know,” I said. I grinned a little and looked up at him. “But, I’ve had an intense attraction to you since the moment I met you.”
He smiled, touching my fingertips with his. There was a spark of red between us along with the shock. I had never seen it in the dark.
“Because of that,” he said. “I’ve had the same feelings.”
I smiled, feeling a bit more calm. “So it wasn’t just me.”
“No,” he said in a near whisper. “It wasn’t just you.”
